My name is Stas Kotov. I was born in St.-Petersburg (Leningrad) in 1976. I studied bassoon 13 years — music school, the Rimsky-Korsakov Music College, and then the Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory, which I've finished safely in 2000... I have worked in three orchestras: Opera studio in the Conservatory, Capella Orchestra of St.-Petersburg, St.-Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra.

At present I am Principal Bassoon of San Luis Potosi Symphony Orchestra (Mexico). Here I have made a recording of the first movement of Vivaldi's Concerto with a chamber orchestra (March 10, 2002).

I am always glad to see all bassoonists and other musicians on my site. My goal is to fill up music archive, musical fragments (mp3s), collection of links.... but it is not so easy without your help. So, if you have something interesting and new, please send it to me!
